MetroSquash Family
Family participation is not only welcomed but is crucial for for each student’s success. MetroSquash staff and parents are in constant contact about a student’s progress, and families are encouraged to attend program events and have many opportunities to volunteer and support the program.
Given the long-term commitment of the MetroSquash program, it is common to see participation expand from one student to their siblings, cousins and close friends.

Engagement
Family participation is always encouraged at MetroSquash events and they participate in numerous ways throughout the year. Our families especially look forward to several annual events, such as our Holiday and Year-End Celebrations. Our families’ commitment is evident in their common expression that “MetroSquash feels like a second home”.
Volunteering
Our families are avid and frequent volunteers. They have contributed more than 300 hours in a single year! Some family volunteer opportunities have included:

- Officers & Families Squash & Fitness Day
- Squash Tournaments
- MetroSquash Open House
- Workshops
- Holiday Celebrations
- Year-End Celebration

The Parent Committee
Parents and guardians come together to form the MetroSquash Parent Committee. The role of the Parent Committee is to:
- Give input and feedback regarding the MetroSquash Program
- Take a leadership role as volunteers at various MetroSquash events
- Act as an informed liaison for other parents within the MetroSquash community
- Lead or participate in Parent Workshops
- Participate in community based initiatives that benefit our students
- ENJOY the parent FELLOWSHIP and sense of extended family
