MetroSquash became the official charity partner of the Windy City Open / World Championships in 2006 and has gained a tremendous amount of exposure as a result of it. Every year, MetroSquash students have the opportunity to see professional squash playing in this exciting tournament and even get to hit on court with some of the top players in the world. Since 2006, the tournament has donated over $250,000 to MetroSquash.
In addition, with the support of Scott Miner, the Kutyla Family, and Constellation Brands, a MetroSquash female student is awarded the Liz Kutyla-Miner Achievement Scholarship at this event. The Liz Kutyla-Miner Achievement Scholarship is a $3,000 award that goes directly towards supporting the post-secondary tuition for a deserving female MetroSquash student who lives a life that is a shining example to others academically, athletically, and socially.
